John Chase is an orthopaedic surgeon who retired in 2020. After growing up and going to school in Iowa he moved to Florida for residency and practiced for thirty-five years in Orlando.

Today, John is thoroughly enjoying retirement — spending time with his five grandchildren, playing golf and pickle ball, and mentoring high school students with aspirations toward careers in medicine through Elevate Orlando. He and his wife Marian have three daughters with families in Orlando, Austin, and Atlanta.

John is also the author a memoir titled You What?! Writing has turned into an unexpected avocation, and he values the connections he’s made with a wide array of people through his writing.
