Douglas Coulter Richards
DOUGLAS COULTER RICHARDS, or Doug to many, was born on January 30, 1918, on the family farm in Warren’s Corners, New York, while World War I was still raging in Europe. He grew up on the dairy farm, lived through the Great Depression, and went to college at Syracuse University, graduating in 1940.
He had many hobbies, including golf, hunting, fishing, garden-ing, making furniture, reading, and traveling. He and his wife Mina traveled to many 456th Bomb Group reunions over the years.
After living his life to the fullest, Doug passed away on March 11, 2010, and is buried with his wife in Cambria, New York. He is survived by his two children, Beth and Paul, plus many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
