Jean Barrett Holloway
Jean Barrett Holloway has worked as an actress, earned graduate degrees in stage direction and physical education, and taught for the Adult Division of Los Angeles Unified Schools as well as UCLA Extension’s Certificated Program in Fitness Instruction. Starting in 1983, she also competed and then coached as an Olympic-style weightlifter for Bob Takano’s team at Van Nuys High School.
After her early years of travel, Jean settled in Los Angeles where she lives and writes. Her poems have been published in a number of journals and in four books: Over the Falls, and Weightlifting Rules, Poems & Photographs (both from Tebot Bach); and from Conflux Press, William Tecumseh Sherman, and This World So Frail, Kwajalein Poems.
