Hellgate Press is primarily known as a publisher of non-fiction military history and veteran memoir books. In the past, we have turned down the numerous queries for historical or other fiction work that we have received. But recently, we have decided to try our hand at publishing fiction. It’s a bold move on our part as breaking into an overcrowded field is always a challenge--especially in the publishing world.
PLEASE NOTE:
As a fiction writer looking for a publisher, you probably are well aware that there is a big difference between fiction and non-fiction, particularly in terms of the marketplace. Overall, fiction outsells non-fiction by a large margin and that means that there are far more of you fiction writers submitting queries than your non-fiction counterparts.
So, in deciding to make fiction part of our overall catalog, we have decided that the best way for us to successfully bring these books to market is through our Author Partner Program. Therefore, from this point forward, all of our fiction books will be done via this program. Started in 2007, the program has resulted in bringing more than twenty nonfiction and fiction titles to the marketplace--books which otherwise may never have been published.
