Bobbie Bergesen is a graduate of Smith College in Northampton, MA. She worked briefly in the OSS (Office of Strategic Services) and in the Department of State before marrying a U.S. Foreign Service Officer in 1951. She traveled and lived around the world at American Embassy posts, mostly in Europe and Asia, until her husband retired in 1984. After his death in 1995, Bobbie remarried (in 1999, at age 76!) and currently lives in Florida where she divides her leisure time between freelance writing, community volunteering, dancing, and playing tennis.
